Perfectly Seared Steaks Smothered in a Rich Garlic Herb Butter Sauce
Ingredients:
**For the Steaks:**
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (halal-certified, 1 inch thick)
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil
**For the Garlic Herb Butter Sauce:**
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Directions:
**1. Season the Steaks:**
- Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
**2. Sear the Steaks:**
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil.
- Place the steaks in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness).
- Once seared, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for 5 minutes.
**3. Make the Garlic Herb Butter Sauce:**
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add the butter and let it melt.
- Stir in the minced garlic and fresh thyme or rosemary. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the lemon juice and chili flakes (if using), stirring until the sauce is rich and golden.
**4. Serve:**
- Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the garlic herb butter sauce over the top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes or roasted veggies.
