🍞 Pane Toscano
Pane Toscano is a traditional Tuscan bread made without salt, known for its rustic crust and soft, airy crumb. It pairs wonderfully with hearty stews, cheeses, and olive oil.
Ingredients
• Bread flour: 4 cups (500 g)
• Water: 1½ cups (360 ml), warm
• Active dry yeast: 2 tsp
• Olive oil: 2 tbsp
• Salt: none (authentic Tuscan style)
Instructions
1️⃣ • Dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit for 10 minutes.
2️⃣ • Mix in flour and olive oil to form a dough.
3️⃣ • Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4️⃣ • Place dough in a bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours.
5️⃣ • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
6️⃣ • Shape dough into loaves and place on a baking sheet.
7️⃣ • Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
8️⃣ • Let cool before slicing.
