Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Frosting:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until fully combined.
Scoop dough onto prepared sheets and gently flatten each ball.
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are just golden. Cool completely.
For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla. Add milk a little at a time until smooth.
Pipe or spread frosting over cooled cookies and let set.
