Instructions:

Bake the cake layer: Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake in a springform pan (or round cake pan) and allow it to cool completely.

Make the cheesecake layer: Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and sour cream until combined.
