π Festve Jell-O Easter Eggs π₯
Ingredients:
10ml vegetable oil (for greasing molds)
4 packets (85g each) Jell-O in assorted flavors (e.g., strawberry, orange, lime, grape)
60ml plain Greek yogurt
Boiling water (as needed for Jell-O preparation)
Instructions:
Prepare the Egg Molds:
Ensure your plastic egg molds have adequately sized holes for filling. If necessary, enlarge the holes slightly using scissors, a small nail, or even a drill for precision. Lightly grease the interior of each mold with vegetable oil using a paper towel, making sure every surface is evenly coated to ensure easy release later. For molds with holes on both ends, place a small spoonful of prepared Jell-O (about 5ml) in the bottom of an egg tray, then set the mold on top. Chill in the refrigerator for 5β10 minutes to seal the base securely.
Create Vibrant Layers:
For each Jell-O flavor, mix one packet of gelatin with 120ml of boiling water in separate bowls, stirring until completely dissolved. Using a plastic syringe or pipette, carefully fill each egg mold about β
full with the first chosen color. Refrigerate for 10β15 minutes to allow the layer to set firmly.
Once set, add 15ml of Greek yogurt to the remaining Jell-O mixture of the same flavor, blending until smooth and creamy. Gently pour this new layer over the initial layer in the molds. Return to the refrigerator to chill until firm. Repeat this process with the other Jell-O flavors, allowing each layer to solidify before adding the next for a stunning gradient effect.
Chill Thoroughly:
After all layers are added, refrigerate the eggs for at least 4 hoursβor ideally overnightβto ensure they are fully set and hold their shape perfectly.
Unmold with Care:
To release the Jell-O eggs from their molds, briefly dip each one into hot water for 3β4 seconds. Gently press the sides of the mold to encourage the egg to pop out. If it doesnβt release easily, repeat the hot water step for a few more seconds. Be patient to avoid damaging the delicate shapes.
Serve Festively:
Arrange the colorful Jell-O Easter Eggs on a decorative platter and serve as a delightful treat during Easter brunch, dessert time, or any festive gathering.
