Fried strawberry cheesecake sandwiches
ingredients
for the filling:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup fresh strawberries, diced
for the sandwiches:
- 8 slices white or brioche bread
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon sugar
for frying:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- oil for frying
for serving:
- powdered sugar
- strawberry sauce or syrup
instructions
1. prepare the filling
- in a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- fold in the diced strawberries.
2. assemble the sandwiches
- spread a layer of the cheesecake filling onto four slices of bread.
- top with the remaining slices to make sandwiches.
- press the edges gently to seal.
3. coat the sandwiches
- in a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and sugar.
- lightly dust each sandwich with flour, then dip into the egg mixture.
4. fry the sandwiches
- heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- fry each sandwich for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
5. serve
- dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with strawberry sauce.
