🇫🇷 Almond-Filled Puff Pastry (Galette des Rois)
A classic French pastry served during Epiphany, filled with sweet almond cream.
Ingredients:
Puff pastry sheets – 2 (about 500g total)
Almond meal – 100g
Butter (softened) – 100g
Sugar – 100g
Egg – 1
Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Mix almond meal, butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla into a smooth frangipane.
Place one pastry sheet on a tray, spread filling leaving 2cm border.
Cover with the second sheet, seal edges, and decorate.
Brush with beaten egg.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
