🐣🍪 Easter Egg Sugar Cookie Bars
Festive, fun, and perfect for Easter
✨ Ingredients:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp almond extract (optional)
¼ cup Easter M&M’s or candy-coated chocolate eggs
½ cup pastel sprinkles
For the Frosting:
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Food coloring (optional)
Extra sprinkles & candy eggs for topping
🔥 Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
2️⃣ In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3️⃣ In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing until smooth.
4️⃣ Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined. Fold in M&M’s and sprinkles.
5️⃣ Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish and bake for 18–22 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let cool completely.
6️⃣ For the frosting, beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla, then mix until fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.
7️⃣ Spread the frosting over the cooled cookie bars, then top with extra sprinkles and candy eggs. Slice into squares and serve!
