My mom used to make these Fried Potatoes And Onions all the time!
Ingredients:
4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the Potatoes: Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Place them in a bowl of cold water to remove excess starch, then drain and pat them dry.
Fry the Potatoes: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the sliced potatoes and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and crispy on the outside.
Add the Onions: Add the sliced onions to the skillet with the potatoes and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and the potatoes are crispy.
Season: Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy the crispy, flavorful combination of potatoes and onions!
