Sticky Toffee Pudding ๐ฎ๐ซ
A beloved British classic, Sticky Toffee Pudding is the ultimate comfort dessert! With its moist, spongy texture and rich, indulgent toffee sauce, itโs a perfect treat for any occasion. Served warm with extra sauce and maybe a dollop of cream or a scoop of ice cream, itโs pure bliss!
Ingredients:
๐ฐ Self-raising flour: 200g
๐ซ Dark brown sugar: 175g
๐ง Butter: 100g, softened
๐ฅ Eggs: 2 large
๐ฅ Baking powder: 1 tsp
๐ฐ Chopped dates: 200g, chopped
๐ฅ Whole milk: 150ml
๐ฏ Golden syrup: 2 tbsp
๐ฟ Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
For the toffee sauce:
๐ฏ Dark brown sugar: 100g
๐ง Butter: 100g
๐ฅ Double cream: 200ml
๐ฟ Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
Method:
๐ฐ Preheat your oven to 180ยฐC (fan) and grease a 20cm square baking tin with butter.
๐ง In a large bowl, cream together the butter and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
๐ฅ Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring theyโre fully incorporated after each addition.
๐ฐ Sift in the self-raising flour and baking powder, then fold them into the butter mixture.
๐ฐ Stir in the chopped dates, followed by the milk, golden syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
๐ง Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 30โ35 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
๐ฏ While the pudding is baking, make the toffee sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter with the dark brown sugar and double cream over low heat. Stir occasionally until smooth and slightly thickened. Stir in the vanilla extract.
๐ฎ When the pudding is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
๐ฏ Pour the warm toffee sauce generously over the pudding and serve with extra sauce and cream or ice cream if desired.
