🇫🇷 Choux à la Crème 🥮 (Cream Puffs)
Light and airy pastry filled with smooth vanilla custard—French pastry perfection!
📝 Ingredients (Choux Pastry):
125 ml water
50 g butter
70 g flour
2 eggs
Pinch of salt
📝 Ingredients (Filling):
300 ml milk
2 egg yolks
60 g sugar
30 g cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
Powdered sugar for dusting
👩🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
2️⃣ In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
3️⃣ Add flour all at once, stir until a smooth dough forms and pulls from the sides.
4️⃣ Let cool, then beat in eggs one at a time.
5️⃣ Pipe small rounds onto a baking sheet.
6️⃣ Bake 20–25 mins until golden. Cool completely.
7️⃣ For filling: heat milk with vanilla. In another bowl, whisk yolks, sugar, and cornstarch.
8️⃣ Slowly add hot milk, return to pan, and cook until thick. Chill.
9️⃣ Fill puffs with pastry cream using a piping bag. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
