French Breakfast Puffs
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup (120ml) milk
For the topping:
1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
Add the dry ingredients alternately with milk into the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
While still warm, dip each puff in melted butter, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve warm!

Tips:
Add a pinch of cardamom for an aromatic twist.
These are best served warm, right after coating—perfect with a cup of coffee!
