Ingredients:
2½ cups fresh or frozen fruit (strawberries, peaches, mango, or mixed berries work well)
1 packet Kool-Aid (choose your favorite fruity flavor)
½–1 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp light corn syrup
¼ cup water (as needed for blending)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Fruit Mixture
Wash and prep your fruit: remove stems, pits, or skins as needed.
Chop into small pieces and blend in a food processor or blender until smooth.
Add water as needed to help it puree smoothly.
Step 2: Add Kool-Aid & Sweetener
Pour the fruit puree into a bowl.
Stir in Kool-Aid powder and sugar until fully combined.
Add corn syrup if using—it enhances chewiness and shine.
Step 3: Spread the Mixture
Preheat oven to its lowest setting (170°F–200°F).
Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
Pour the mixture onto the lined sheet and spread evenly into a thin layer, about 1/8 inch thick.
Step 4: Dry Until Chewy
Bake with the oven door slightly ajar for 4–8 hours, depending on thickness and humidity.
Check periodically—when dry to the touch and peels easily from the parchment, it’s ready!
Step 5: Cool & Cut
Let the fruit leather cool slightly before cutting into strips.
Use a pizza cutter or scissors to divide into 2-inch wide strips.
Step 6: Roll & Store
Gently roll each strip tightly, using parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Wrap in plastic wrap or wax paper for individual servings.
