Tacos and Indian Fry Bread
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Oil for frying
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. Add the cold water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each into a ball.
5. Flatten each ball into a circle about 6 inches in diameter.
6. Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
7. Fry each dough circle in the hot oil until golden brown and puffed, about 2-3 minutes per side.
8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
9. Serve warm as a base for tacos or with toppings of your choice.
