Candied Pecans
Ingredients:
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
3. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
4. Add pecans to the butter mixture and toss to coat evenly.
5. Transfer pecans to the sugar mixture and toss well to coat all pecans.
6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to prevent burning, until pecans are toasted and caramelized.
8. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet. Pecans will harden as they cool.
