Chocolate Fudge Layer Cake

Ingredients

1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup hot water

For the chocolate frosting

1 cup heavy cream

200 g dark chocolate (chopped)

2 tablespoons butter

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease two round cake pans.

2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.

4. Slowly add hot water and mix until the batter is thin and smooth.

5. Pour into pans and bake for 30–35 minutes. Let cool completely.

6. To make the frosting, heat the cream until warm, then pour over chopped chocolate.

7. Stir until melted, add butter, and mix until glossy. Let cool slightly.

8. Slice the cakes into layers, spread frosting between each layer, and cover the outside.

9. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
