For the Cream Filling:
• 1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
• 3 tbsp powdered sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• Optional: 100g (3.5 oz) cream cheese for a slightly tangy, firmer filling
Optional Toppings:
• Chocolate ganache
• Fresh berries
• Shaved chocolate or cocoa powder

👩‍🍳 Instructions
1. Bake the Chocolate Cake:
1 Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pans.
2 In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3 In another bowl, whisk eggs, both sugars, oil, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
4 Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
5 Pour in the hot water or coffee, mix gently — the batter will be thin.
6 Divide evenly between pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
7 Let cakes cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
2. Make the Cream Filling:
1 In a cold mixing bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form.
2 Add powdered sugar and vanilla, and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
3 (Optional) For a firmer filling, fold in softened cream cheese.
3. Assemble the Cake:
1 Once cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate.
2 Spread the cream filling evenly over the top.
3 Place the second cake layer on top.
4 Optional: Frost the top with chocolate ganache or dust with powdered sugar.
4. Chill & Serve:
• Chill the cake for at least 1 hour before slicing — this helps the filling set and makes cleaner cuts.
