Juicy and Flaky Fish Seared
Ingredients:
4 fish fillets (such as salmon, tilapia, or cod)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
Fresh herbs for garnish (such as parsley or dill)
Directions:
Begin by patting the fish fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the fish fillets in the skillet, skin side down if applicable. Allow them to cook undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the fish is easily released from the pan.
Flip the fillets gently using a spatula and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Add the minced garlic to the pan during the last minute of cooking, stirring gently to combine. Drizzle the lemon juice over the fish just before removing it from the skillet.
Transfer the seared fish to a serving plate and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
