Better Than Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 pounds frozen hashbrowns
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes (optional for topping)
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Grab a large mixing bowl and toss in those hashbrowns, diced onion, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper. Give it a good mix until everything is happily combined.
3. Spread this delightful mixture evenly into a greased baking dish.
4. If you're feeling a bit adventurous, sprinkle some crushed cornflakes on top for that extra crunch.
5. Pop the dish into your preheated oven and let it bake for about 45-50 minutes, until it's bubbly and perfectly golden brown on top.
6. Once it's out, sprinkle the remaining cup of cheddar cheese on top and put it back in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, just so that cheese melts beautifully.
