Grilled Steak with Garlic Butter Asparagus
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
1 lb ribeye or strip steak
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, smashed
Fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs (optional)
For the Asparagus:
1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions:
Preheat Grill or Cast-Iron Skillet: Heat until very hot.
Season Steak: Pat steak dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil.
Grill Steak: Sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare. In the last minute, add butter, garlic, and herbs. Baste with the melted butter. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
Grill Asparagus: Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill or sauté over high heat until tender and lightly charred, about 5–7 minutes. Finish with butter and garlic, cook 1 minute more.
Serve: Slice steak into thick strips. Plate with asparagus, spoon garlic butter over both, and garnish with lemon wedges.
