French Onion Beef and Noodles
Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) beef stew meat or sirloin, cut into small chunks
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup beef broth
8 oz (225g) egg noodles
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese (optional, for topping)
Directions:
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add beef and cook until browned on all sides. Season with salt and pepper.
Add sliced onions and garlic, cooking until soft and golden, about 8-10 minutes.
Stir in French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20–25 minutes, or until beef is tender and the flavors have melded.
Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Combine the cooked noodles with the beef mixture and stir until well coated.
Optional: Transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle with cheese, and broil for 2–3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
