Caramel Pecan Turtle Brownie Bars
Ingredients:
- 1 box of brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box)
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (for that perfect contrast)
- 1/2 cup whipped cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven according to the brownie mix instructions and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan. Trust me, you want these bars to slide right out!
2. In a mixing bowl, prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Stir in half of the chopped pecans for that nutty goodness.
3. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake according to the package directions, usually around 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
4. While those brownies are baking, melt the caramel sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until it’s nice and smooth. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can add a pinch of sea salt to enhance that caramel flavor!
5. Once the brownies are out of the oven, let them cool for about 10 minutes. Then, drizzle the warm caramel sauce all over the top, letting it ooze into the brownies. Oh, the aroma is heavenly!
6. Sprinkle the remaining pecans and chocolate chips over the caramel layer, pressing them in gently. Pop the pan back in the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, just until the chocolate chips are melted and gooey.
7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before slicing into bars. I know it’s hard to wait, but trust me, it’s worth it!
8. Serve these decadent bars with a dollop of whipped cream on top if you like. They’re perfect for sharing, but you might just want to keep them all to yourself!
