Crispy Quinoa & Chia Seed Pizza Crust: A Nutritious Twist on Classic Pizza! 🍕✨
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup quinoa, rinsed and drained (130g)
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds (20g)
- ½ cup water (120ml)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15ml)
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a small bowl, combine chia seeds and water. Let sit for 10-15 minutes until it forms a gel-like consistency.
3. In a food processor, combine rinsed quinoa, chia gel, olive oil, baking powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, and sea salt. Blend until the mixture is smooth and resembles a batter.
4. Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it into a thin, even circle, about ¼-inch (6mm) thick.
5. Bake for 15 minutes, then carefully flip the crust and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until both sides are golden and crispy.
6. Remove from the oven and add your desired pizza toppings.
7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the toppings are cooked to your liking.
8. Slice and serve warm.
