Surf & Turf Pasta with Creamy Garlic Sauce
🥩🦐🍝 Juicy steak, tender shrimp, and rich pasta — a restaurant-quality dish with real homemade charm!
📝 Ingredients
For the Steak & Shrimp:
1 ribeye or sirloin steak (about 10–12 oz)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
For the Pasta:
8 oz linguine
2 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 tbsp chopped parsley (plus more to garnish)
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
Boil linguine in salted water until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.
2. Cook the Steak
Pat steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
Sear in hot olive oil (cast iron preferred) 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Add butter and baste for the final minute. Let rest before slicing.
3. Cook the Shrimp
In the same pan, add shrimp with a pinch of salt, pepper, and paprika.
Sear 1–2 minutes per side until just cooked through. Set aside.
4. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce
In a clean pan, melt butter. Sauté garlic until fragrant.
Add cream, bring to a gentle simmer, then stir in Parmesan.
Season with salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
5. Assemble the Bowl
Place creamy linguine in a bowl.
Top with sliced steak and shrimp.
Spoon over any pan juices.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley (let a few fall off for that home-cooked aesthetic!).
