Moist Chocolate Loaf Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup sour cream or plain yogurt
½ cup whole milk
¾ cup (65 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup (90 g) chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla, sour cream, and milk until smooth.
In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips if using.
Pour batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
