Praline Crunch
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cream of tartar. Stir gently to combine and place over medium heat.
2. Cook the sugar mixture without stirring until it reaches a deep amber color, about 8-10 minutes. Swirl the pan occasionally to ensure even caramelization.
3. Remove from heat and immediately stir in chopped pecans, vanilla extract, salt, and butter until smooth and well mixed.
4. Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread evenly using a spatula.
5. Allow the praline crunch to cool completely and harden at room temperature, about 30-40 minutes.
6. Once set, break into small pieces or shards for serving or garnishing desserts.
