For the folks who just dislike rolling dough out, or don't have the time, here is an easy, no fuss drop biscuit recipe. This is the recipe that I first learned to make biscuits with when I was very young, and then advanced to rolled biscuits. Great for beginner cooks too.
OLD-FASHIONED DROP BISCUITS
DROP BISCUITS
1/4 cup Cornstarch
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup oil
3/4 cup milk
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Sift dry ingredients together, combine oil and milk and add to dry ingredients, mixing lightly. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an oiled baking sheet or cast iron pan. Bake for 12 to 15 min.
Makes 12 to 14 biscuits.
