Delicious Marble Chocolate and Vanilla Cake
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
**Preparation of the Cake:**
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
**Making the Chocolate Batter:**
- In a small bowl, combine cocoa powder and hot water to form a smooth chocolate mixture.
- Stir the chocolate mixture into half of the cake batter.
**Creating the Marble Effect:**
- Pour the vanilla batter into the prepared pan.
- Add spoonfuls of the chocolate batter on top and gently swirl them together with a knife or skewer to create a marble effect.
**Finishing the Cake:**
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and white chocolate chips over the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
**Cooling:**
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
