Rhubarb Cake with Butter Sauce :
Ingredients:
• 4 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 4 teaspoons baking powder
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 4 cups diced rhubarb (fresh or frozen)
• 2 cups milk
• 6 tablespoons melted butter
• ½ cup (1 stick) butter
• 1 cup sugar
• ¾ cup heavy cream
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until they're all mixed up nicely.
Add the diced rhubarb, milk, and melted butter into the mixture. Stir gently until everything is just mixed together.
Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and pour the batter into it.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool down to room temperature. This gives the flavors time to mingle and get to know each other better.
Now let's make that delicious Butter Sauce: In a saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, and heavy cream. Heat it up over medium heat, stirring constantly. Let it gently boil for about a minute to blend all those flavors together perfectly. Then take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit.
Time to serve! Cut the cooled cake into generous slices and drizzle each piece with the warm, velvety Butter Sauce. If the sauce cools down too much, you can warm it up again gently on the stove or in the microwave. Enjoy!
