This Amish breakfast casserole has bacon, onion, eggs, hash browns, and lots of cheese. My family loves this hearty dish!👇👇
Ingredients:
1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 large onion, chopped
1 (20 ounce) package frozen hash browns, thawed
8 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (or your favorite cheese blend)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked and crumbled bacon, chopped onion, and thawed hash browns. Mix well.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
4. Pour the egg mixture over the hash brown mixture. Stir gently to combine, ensuring all the hash browns are coated.
5. Pour the hash brown and egg mixture into the prepared baking dish.
6. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the top.
7. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the cheese is melted and bubbly. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
8. Let the casserole stand for 10-15 minutes before cutting and serving. This allows it to set up slightly and makes it easier to serve. Enjoy!
