🇮🇹 Malloreddus (Sardinian Gnocchi)
A beloved Sardinian comfort food—tiny ridged pasta served in a rich sausage and tomato sauce.
📝 Ingredients:
• 2 cups malloreddus pasta (or gnocchetti sardi)
• 1/4 pound Italian sausage, crumbled
• 1 cup tomato sauce
• 1/4 cup grated pecorino cheese
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 1/2 onion, finely chopped
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Fresh basil (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion until soft.
2️⃣ Add sausage and cook until browned.
3️⃣ Stir in tomato sauce, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
4️⃣ Meanwhile, cook malloreddus in salted boiling water until al dente.
5️⃣ Drain and mix with the sauce.
6️⃣ Sprinkle with pecorino and fresh basil before serving.
