🍏 Grandma’s Apple Slab Pie – Just Like Sunday Afternoons
This apple slab pie reminds me of sitting around Grandma’s kitchen table, the scent of cinnamon filling the air. It’s perfect for gatherings or when you’re craving something sweet and cozy. Share a slice of comfort with your loved ones!
đź›’ Ingredients:
2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought, rolled to fit a sheet pan)
6 cups peeled, sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great)
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
Optional: powdered sugar glaze (1/2 cup powdered sugar + 1–2 tsp milk)
👩‍🍳 Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a rimmed sheet pan (about 15x10 inches).
Roll out one crust to fit the bottom of the pan. Press into place.
In a large bowl, toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice.
Spread apple mixture evenly over the crust. Dot with butter pieces.
Roll out the second crust and lay it on top. Seal the edges and cut small slits in the top to let steam escape.
Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
Let cool slightly. Drizzle with glaze if using. Slice into squares and serve warm or room temp.
đź’ˇ Tip: Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for that classic touch.
