Muffuletta Delight Sandwich
This delicious Muffuletta Delight Sandwich brings together the bold flavors of Italian meats, cheeses, and a zesty olive tapenade, all nestled in a crusty Italian loaf. Perfect for a picnic or a hearty lunch!
Ingredients:
1 large round loaf of Italian bread
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
8 oz Genoa salami, sliced
8 oz ham, sliced
8 oz mortadella, sliced
4 oz provolone cheese, sliced
4 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced
1/2 cup olive tapenade store-bought or homemade
1/2 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
1/4 cup green olives, sliced
Directions:
Cut the loaf of Italian bread in half horizontally.
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, basil, crushed red pepper flakes, and garlic powder.
Brush both halves of the bread with the olive oil mixture.
Layer the salami, ham, mortadella, provolone, mozzarella, olive tapenade, roasted red peppers, and green olives onto the bottom half of the bread.
Place the top half of the bread on top, pressing down gently.
Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
Before serving, cut the sandwich into wedges and serve.
