Moules Marinières (Sailor’s Mussels) Recipe

Ingredients
• 2 pounds fresh mussels, cleaned
• 1/2 cup white wine
• 1/4 cup heavy cream
• 1 shallot, finely chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1/4 cup chopped parsley
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 baguette, for serving
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Sauté the shallot and garlic until soft and fragrant.
3. Add the white wine and bring to a simmer.
4. Stir in the cream and season with salt and pepper.
5. Add the mussels, cover the pot, and cook for 5 minutes or until the mussels open.
6. Discard any mussels that remain closed.
7. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with slices of baguette.
