📋 Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
📝 Instructions
1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
2. Shape the mixture into 4 oval patties.
3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
4. Remove from skillet and set aside.
5. In the same skillet, melt butter and add onions and mushrooms.
6. Cook until the onions are soft and the mushrooms are browned.
7. Sprinkle flour over the onion and mushroom mixture and stir to coat.
8. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly, and bring to a simmer.
9. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.
10. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for an additional 5 minutes.
11. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
