Prickly Pear Margarita
Ingredients:
2 oz blanco tequila
1 oz prickly pear syrup
½ oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
1 oz fresh lime juice
Coarse salt (for rimming the glass)
Ice
Lime wedge (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prep the glass: Rim the edge of a margarita or double old fashioned glass with coarse salt. You can use water, agave, or honey to help the salt stick.
Shake the cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the tequila, prickly pear syrup, orange liqueur, and fresh lime juice. Shake for 10–15 seconds until chilled.
Serve: Fill your prepared glass with fresh ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with a lime wedge or slice.
Notes:
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor—it's the key to a great margarita.
Prickly pear syrup gives this drink its vibrant pink color and unique fruity sweetness (like watermelon meets bubble gum).
For a pitcher: Multiply the recipe by 8 to make approximately 8 servings.
Garnish options: lime, prickly pear slices, or an orange twist.
