CLASSIC REUBEN SANDWICHES 🥪🧀🍖✨
Ingredients:
For the Sandwiches:
8 slices of rye bread
8 oz corned beef, thinly sliced
1 cup sauerkraut, drained
8 slices Swiss cheese
4 tbsp butter, softened
For the Russian Dressing:
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp horseradish sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Russian Dressing:
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of rye bread.
On the unbuttered side of 4 slices, spread a generous layer of Russian dressing.
Layer corned beef evenly on top of the dressing.
Add a portion of sauerkraut on top of the corned beef, and then place a slice of Swiss cheese over the sauerkraut.
Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread, buttered side up.
Grill the Sandwiches:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides, and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your skillet.
Serve:
Remove from the skillet and let the sandwiches rest for a minute before slicing in half.
Serve hot and enjoy!
