Ingredients
For the Chocolate Cake:
1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup (240ml) whole milk
1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup (240ml) boiling water
For the Oreo Filling:
8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
10–12 Oreo cookies, crushed into fine crumbs
For the Oreo Frosting:
1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
10–12 Oreo cookies, crushed (for mixing into frosting)
Instructions
1. Make the Chocolate Cake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and combined.
Gradually add the boiling water to the batter, mixing until it’s smooth. The batter will be thin.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
2. Make the Oreo Filling:
In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, beating until light and fluffy.
Stir in the crushed Oreo cookies until evenly incorporated.
Set aside.
3. Make the Oreo Frosting:
In a chilled mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue beating until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies to the whipped cream frosting, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream too much.
4. Assemble the Cake:
Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer of cake on your serving platter or cake stand.
Spread a generous layer of Oreo filling over the top of the first cake layer.
Place the second cake layer on top and press gently to secure it.
Frost the entire cake with the Oreo frosting, covering it evenly.
Optionally, garnish the top with additional crushed Oreo cookies for a fun and flavorful touch.
5. Chill and Serve:
Chill the cake in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the frosting to set.
Slice and enjoy the Oreo goodness!
