Sunflower Easter Peep Chocolate Cake (Let the kids help.)
This is a cute little cake that you can make out of a box mix and let the kids help.
~~Ingredients~~
1 box yellow cake mix (Prepared per directions .)
1 tub Hershey’s Chocolate Frosting or other brand if you can’t find it
16-18 Yellow Peep Chick Candies
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Prepare 2 (8 or 9 inch) round cake pans.
Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions. Cool in pans 5-10 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool. Cool completely.
If cake layers have rounded tops, trim with a long serrated knife to make level. Pour the frosting out if the tub into a bowl and mix using a hand mixer to fluff up the frosting. Spread the frosting between the layers and over the top and sides of the cake.
For petals, arrange the Peeps around edge of cake, curving slightly and being careful not to separate the chicks. For the sunflower seeds, arrange the chocolate chips in the center of cake. If the kids are helping, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
