Pear and Gorgonzola Flatbread with Honeyed Walnuts and Arugula
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry or flatbread
2 pears, thinly sliced
4 oz (120g) Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup (60ml) honey
1 cup (30g) ground walnuts
A handful of fresh arugula leaves
1 tbsp olive oil
Freshly cracked black pepper
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). If using puff pastry, roll it out lightly on a floured surface and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If using flatbread, place it directly on the sheet.
Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the base to prevent sticking and add depth of flavor.
Layer the pear slices across the entire base, slightly overlapping them.
Scatter crumbled Gorgonzola evenly over the pears.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden and crisp, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
Remove from the oven and drizzle generously with honey.
Top with ground walnuts, fresh arugula, and a touch of cracked black pepper. Serve warm or at room temperature.
