🍮 Pots de Crème (French Custard Pots) 🍫
A silky, baked custard dessert often flavored with chocolate, vanilla, or coffee.
Ingredients:
• 500 ml milk or cream (or a mix)
• 100 g dark chocolate (or 1 tsp vanilla extract / 1 tsp instant coffee, depending on flavor)
• 4 egg yolks
• 80 g sugar
• Pinch of salt
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F). Place ramekins in a deep baking dish.
2️⃣ Heat milk/cream until steaming, then melt in the chocolate (or add vanilla/coffee).
3️⃣ In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale.
4️⃣ Slowly pour hot milk mixture into yolks, whisking constantly.
5️⃣ Strain custard into ramekins.
6️⃣ Fill baking dish with hot water halfway up the ramekins (bain-marie).
7️⃣ Bake 35–40 minutes until just set (slightly wobbly in center).
8️⃣ Cool, then chill before serving.
