French Onion Beef Soup
A rich and savory soup combining tender beef, caramelized onions, and a melted cheese topping, served with crispy toasted bread. Perfect for cozy dinners!
Ingredients:
For the Soup:
2 lbs beef chuck roast, shredded (or use leftover roast beef)
4 large onions, thinly sliced
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
4 cups beef broth
2 cups water
1/2 cup red wine (optional)
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh thyme (or 1/2 tsp dried thyme)
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Topping:
4 slices of crusty bread (French bread or sourdough)
1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
