🍎 Ingredients (US Measuring Cups):
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
2 medium apples, peeled, cored & diced
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (to thicken)
1 egg (for egg wash)
1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
👩🍳 Directions:
Step 1: Make the Apple Filling
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples soften.
Stir in flour and cook 1 more minute until mixture thickens.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Step 2: Prep the Puff Pastry
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry slightly.
Cut into 6 equal rectangles (or desired size).
Step 3: Fill & Seal
Spoon cooled apple filling onto half of each rectangle, leaving space around the edges.
Fold over and press edges with a fork to seal.
Brush tops with beaten egg for golden finish.
Cut small slits on top for steam to escape.
Step 4: Bake
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
Step 5: Caramel Drizzle & Serve
Let cool slightly, then drizzle with warm caramel sauce.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm!
