π Homemade Kool-Aid Fruit Roll-Ups π¬
Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 packet (0.13 oz) Kool-Aid drink mix (any flavor)
2 tablespoons honey or granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
Optional: 1-2 drops food coloring (for extra vibrancy)
Instructions
Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 170Β°F (75Β°C) or the lowest setting available. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
Mix the Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, combine the unsweetened applesauce, Kool-Aid drink mix, and honey (or sugar). Stir until the mixture is smooth and the Kool-Aid is fully dissolved. If desired, add a drop or two of food coloring to enhance the color.
Spread the Mixture:
Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it into a thin, even layer, about β
-inch thick. Ensure the edges are even to prevent burning.
Dry in the Oven:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 4-6 hours, or until the mixture is dry to the touch and no longer sticky. The exact time will depend on your oven and the thickness of the layer.
Cool and Cut:
Once fully dried, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let it cool completely. Use kitchen scissors or a pizza cutter to cut the dried fruit mixture into strips or rectangles.
Roll and Store:
Roll up each strip tightly and store them in an airtight container or plastic wrap. Theyβll keep for up to 2 weeks at room temperature.
