π₯π«π· Saucisses aux Lentilles
A hearty French classic with sausages and earthy lentils simmered in aromatic broth. A warming comfort food for cold days πΏπ₯.
Ingredients:
β’ 4 Toulouse sausages (or pork sausages)
β’ 300 g green lentils (Puy lentils preferred)
β’ 1 onion, chopped
β’ 2 carrots, diced
β’ 2 garlic cloves, minced
β’ 1 bouquet garni (thyme, bay, parsley)
β’ 1 L chicken stock
β’ 2 tbsp olive oil
β’ Salt & pepper
Instructions:
1οΈβ£ Heat olive oil in a large pot, brown sausages, and set aside.
2οΈβ£ In the same pot, sautΓ© onion, garlic, and carrots until soft.
3οΈβ£ Add lentils, bouquet garni, and stock. Bring to a boil.
4οΈβ£ Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 25β30 minutes.
5οΈβ£ Return sausages to the pot and cook 10 more minutes.
6οΈβ£ Serve warm with mustard and bread π₯π₯.
