Easy Baked Apple Crumb Donuts
Ingredients:
Apple Donut:
- 2 cups pancake mix
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup milk (1%)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup apple, finely diced
Crumb Topping:
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, for sprinkling
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
2. In a large bowl, combine pancake mix, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter until well blended.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
5. Fold in the finely diced apples gently.
6. In another small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg to create the crumb topping. Use a fork or your fingers to blend until crumbly.
7. Spoon the batter evenly into the donut pan cavities, filling each about ¾ full.
8. Sprinkle the crumb topping generously over each filled cavity.
9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
10. Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
11. Once cooled, sprinkle the donuts with powdered sugar.
