Surf and Turf with Creamy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Steak & Shrimp:
• 2 ribeye or filet mignon steaks
• 8–10 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• Salt & black pepper
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp butter
• Optional: fresh thyme or rosemary for basting
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
• 2 tbsp butter
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
• 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
• Salt & pepper to taste
• Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook the Steak:
Season steaks with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), adding butter and herbs to baste during the last minute. Remove and rest.
2️⃣ Sear the Shrimp:
In the same pan, add a little oil or butter if needed. Sear shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Make the Sauce:
Lower heat and melt 2 tbsp butter. Add garlic and sauté 30–60 seconds.
Pour in cream, stir in Parmesan, and let simmer until thickened (3–5 minutes).
Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
4️⃣ Assemble:
Return shrimp and steak to the pan or plate separately and spoon the creamy garlic sauce over the top.
Garnish with parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, asparagus, or garlic bread.
