For the Crumbly Topping:
1 cup rolled oats (quick-cook is fine)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar (white sugar may be used)
ยฝ tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
ยฝ cup (125g) unsalted melted butter
To Serve:
Vanilla ice cream (highly recommended!)

Preheat Oven
Set oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
Prepare the Apples
In a large bowl, toss cubed apples with flour, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until evenly coated. Transfer to a 1.5-quart baking dish and spread in an even layer.
Make the Crumble Topping
In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in melted butter and mix until clumps form. The mixture should resemble wet sand with chunky bits.
Assemble and Bake
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. Bake for 30โ€“40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
Rest Before Serving
Remove from oven and loosely cover with foil. Let stand for 10 minutes to allow the apple filling to thicken slightly.
Serve Warm
Spoon into bowls and top generously with vanilla ice cream.
