Surf & Turf Steak with Garlic Butter Shrimp

Ingredients:
For the Steak:
β’ 2 filet mignon or ribeye steaks
β’ Salt & black pepper
β’ 1 tbsp olive oil
β’ 1 tbsp butter
For the Shrimp:
β’ 8β10 large shrimp, peeled & deveined
β’ 2 tbsp butter
β’ 2 garlic cloves, minced
β’ Salt & pepper
β’ Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
β’ Fresh parsley, chopped
For the Sauce (Optional):
β’ 1/4 cup beef broth
β’ 1/4 cup heavy cream
β’ 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
β’ 1 tbsp butter

Instructions:
1. Season Steak:
Pat steaks dry and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
2. Cook Steak:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear steaks 3β4 min per side (for medium rare), adding butter during the last minute. Spoon melted butter over steak. Let rest 5 min.
3. SautΓ© Shrimp:
In another pan, melt butter. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Toss in shrimp, cook 1β2 min per side until pink. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
4. Make Optional Sauce:
In the same steak pan, add broth and mustard. Scrape bits from the bottom. Stir in cream and butter. Simmer until slightly thickened.
5. Assemble:
Plate the steak, top with garlic butter shrimp, and drizzle with sauce if using.
