🍰 Heaven on Earth Cake 🍰
Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients to make the cake)
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip)
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the cake: Make the white cake according to the package directions and bake in the prepared dish. Let it cool completely.
Make the topping: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar. Stir until smooth. Add the whipped topping and mix until fully combined.
Prepare the cake: Once the cake is cooled, poke holes all over the surface of the cake using a fork or the handle of a wooden spoon.
Add the pineapple: Spread the drained crushed pineapple evenly over the top of the cake, pressing it into the holes.
Top with the cream cheese mixture: Spread the cream cheese and whipped topping mixture over the pineapple layer.
Add coconut and nuts: Sprinkle the shredded coconut and chopped nuts (if using) evenly over the top.
Refrigerate: Chill the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to blend and the cake to set.
